THE MANILA HOTEL’S “LEGENDARY” MACARTHUR SUITE

“It’s a good story if it’s The Manila Hotel”, once said Ernest Hemingway, an American novelist, short story writer and journalist. The Manila Hotel, built in 1912, is referred to as the “Grand Dame” known for its grandeur and history. And throughout the years, its story keeps getting better and better.

One of the things that The Manila Hotel is known is for is its “legendary” MacArthur Suite named after General Douglas MacArthur, an American five-star general and field marshal of the Philippine Army. He served as Chief of Staff of the United States Army during the 1930s.
